Alumina Ceramic Pipe Lining Overview

Ceramic lined pipe elbows are designed for extended service life in high wear pneumatic fly ash, bottom ash, bed ash and mill reject conveying applications. Ceramic steel composite pipe consist of single ceramic tubes sticked in steel pipe by epoxy resin adhesive glue. The single-piece ceramic pipe design eliminates potential erosion and failure points caused by manual assembly of tiled ceramic fittings, thereby reducing maintenance and lowering life-cycle cost.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the primary advantages of ceramic lined pipes?
Ceramic lined pipes offer extreme wear resistance, high hardness (9 Moh's), and excellent corrosion resistance. They significantly extend the service life of conveying systems in high-abrasion environments compared to standard steel pipes.
Which industries typically use Alumina Ceramic Pipe Linings?
They are widely used in the mining, power generation (coal-fired plants), cement production, steel manufacturing, and chemical processing industries where bulk materials cause heavy equipment wear.
What is the difference between 92% and 95% Alumina content?
95% Alumina ceramics generally offer higher density and slightly better hardness and wear resistance than 92% Alumina, making them suitable for even more extreme abrasion conditions.
How is the ceramic lining fixed inside the steel pipe?
The single ceramic tubes or tiles are typically bonded to the inner surface of the steel pipe using high-strength epoxy resin adhesive or specialized inorganic glues capable of withstanding industrial temperatures.
Can these pipes handle high-temperature applications?
Yes, alumina ceramics have a high maximum operation temperature (up to 1450-1500ºC). However, the actual working temperature of a lined pipe is often limited by the adhesive used (e.g., epoxy resin).
Do you offer custom sizes and shapes?
Yes, complicated shapes and various sizes ranging from 10mm to 500mm can be designed and manufactured according to specific customer requirements and equipment layouts.
